Our Origins

The two institutions whose history is woven into Cascade College's story.

Columbia Christian and Oklahoma Christian

Cascade College's story can't be told without its two sister institutions: Columbia Christian Schools, whose original campus and 1956 roots it shares, and Oklahoma Christian University, which founded and operated Cascade College from 1994 to 2009.

Columbia Christian Schools

Columbia Christian College, founded in 1956, was the original institution on the 9101 E. Burnside Street campus. After Cascade College's 2009 closure, Columbia Christian Schools purchased the campus and continues to operate there today — bringing the property's story full circle.

Oklahoma Christian University

In 1994, Oklahoma Christian University took on the Portland campus and reimagined it as Cascade College, a four-year Christian liberal arts institution. OC continued to operate Cascade until its 2009 closure, and today administers the OC Northwest Endowment Fund and alumni records on Cascade's behalf.
