The Northwest Corner of Heaven

An in-depth look at Cascade College's decade in Portland, Oregon.

A Decade in the Pacific Northwest

Alumni have long called Cascade College “the Northwest Corner of Heaven” — a nod to both its setting among the evergreens and rivers of Oregon, and the close community that formed within its halls. From 1994 to 2009, Cascade offered a four-year Christian liberal arts education on a thirteen-acre urban campus in east Portland.

Students came from more than twenty states to study, worship, and build lifelong friendships. The college's small size meant every student was known by name, and the surrounding beauty of the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood, and the Cascade Range gave the campus its name and its character.
